Here are some causes that we sponsored and supported in the past!
Relay for Life – Kayla Roofe
I am participating in the American Cancer Society?s Relay For Life because I want to make a meaningful difference in the fight against cancer. Almost everyone has been touched by cancer, either through their own personal battle or through someone they love. My mom, Rita Fullmer, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in October 2010. I am happy to say that it has been a one year since her last chemo treatment and she is Cancer free!
On Thursday, July 26, I ran a 5K in my underwear! Help me support Bright Pink (http://www.brightpink.org) by making a donation. The process is fast, easy, and secure. I truly appreciate any support you can provide. It will benefit a great cause! If you can’t make a donation at this point, help me reach my goal by sharing this page on Facebook and Twitter! Or, even better, send an e-mail to friends you think might be interested in contributing and include a link to my page! Thanks so much for your generosity! Natalie
Gerard’s Anglo-Suisse trip
I am running from my house in Duffield to my home village of Seleute, in the North West of Switzerland. The distance is just over 739 miles, and will take a month to complete on foot. The route covers approximately 291 miles through England, 448 miles in France and 17 miles in Switzerland. I will be running a marathon a day! ‘WHY do such a mad thing?’ I hear you ask! (as many have asked before!) In recent years there have been six ladies in Duffield diagnosed with Breast Cancer; which given the population of 5000 is astounding!
Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, with an astonishing one in nine women diagnosed and occasionally some men too. It has affected the lives of members of my family, friends and many people I know. My aim is to raise at least £1000 by shaving my hair off, to help such a fantastic local independent charity, in a bid to assist them in reaching their goal and allowing them to improve technology and in turn save more lives.
